Considering heaps of mobile and tablet devices sprouting up all over the place, there is no denial that the Responsive web design is the way to go. Sketching such a layout takes a lot of brainstorming and involves strategic analysis of ‘what-goes-where’ when the view-port changes, however, the end result is always fascinating and in favor of the user. The trend has subtly entered into WordPress too and we are keen on adopting it as early as possible. So, yes, here it is – Responsive WP Portfolio theme.
In this age and day, ‘always-accessible‘ online presence is of prime importance and professionals like you would definitely want to provide optimum experience to your customers irrespective of the device they use. This theme caters to this crucial need while still maintaining the familiarity and flexibility of WordPress. You can create a customizable business portfolio site with beautiful slider and custom widgets in a jiffy. Simply set it up and it will dynamically adjust the layout based on the device used.
Take a look at the demo of the Responsive Business Portfolio theme. Try changing the width and height of your browser windows and see how it ‘responds’! You can even test drive the theme at: test.templatic.com. We hope you like our first Responsive theme. Don’t forget to provide us your feedback.

Great job @Jal. i really like color combinations and custom portfolio pages.
Glad that you liked it.
Congratulations on the release of the new theme. However unfortunately as a responsive design it has problems. It doesn’t work on an Android browser, and even if you resize it in a normal desktop computer browser window it looks messed up and doesn’t work properly. Hope you can fix it.
We are looking into it right away. As for the resizing on a normal browser, can you please provide more details about the problem like what exactly messes up? Thanks for the quick feedback.
Some things I notice when resizing on a normal browser:
1. On the homepage the text does not wrap properly and gets cut off
2. Portfolio gallery items on the homepage don’t adjust properly
3. The main navigation menu doesn’t adjust (or the way it adjusts is poorly designed)
4. In portfolio galleries on a very small window the text does not adjust nicely under the picture
5. Call to action button on the homepage doesn’t adjust properly with the text
For the first two issues I’d like to say we adopted a different methodology. We have set 4 different discrete width values as thresholds which are used widely in devices. If the viewport passes that threshold, the layout changes. So for intermediate values (like during you resize a browser manually), it will show some distortion. However, as an after-thought, we’ll be fixing it anyway for the greater good.
3. The main navigation menu doesn’t adjust
4. In portfolio galleries on a very small window the text does not adjust nicely under the picture
5. Call to action button on the homepage doesn’t adjust properly with the text
> Rolling out a fix very soon.
Much thanks.
Hi,
some detail critique which I think help you to improve the design a bit :)
1. Fonts are really not going with theme as it look bit awkward.
2. Menu background seems distracting you rather than having a pattern background you could use some bright color or a simple white color and then give the pattern around it, it will look more better as its looking now
3 Rather than using a simple slideshow better you use cuber kind of slideshow thats you have used in some of your theme I guess so it will give more depth to the template and standout perhaps give some nice border or shadow right now it looks too flat :(
4. Footer seems to be too simple you can use some more details there too like make it a dark black background and make fonts white or something else dont know what as I dont have any idea now will send you an screenshot what I mean exactly :)
5. Regarding resizing right now it not working I am agree with @PremiumWP on this topic as its get too messy right now if you resize the browser manually the thumbnail got irresponsible when you you rollover on it..
I think you guys should check the design multiple times becoz making responsive design is bit hard as we need to be sure it should work in every browser or on any device :)
Thanks
Paresh
Hi Paresh,
First of all thanks for the critiques related to aesthetics of the theme. The things you mentioned about the fonts, menus and the over all design is surely good. But you see, design is a thing that’s so subjective. What might be pleasing to me, might not be to you. We always try to make as many customers happy as we can. Moreover we wanted this theme to look minimal. If you know a bit of CSS, you can jazz it up to your taste or you can use the color schemes we’ve provided. :)
Regarding the resizing thingy, we are rolling out a fix soon.
Thanks.
Hi Jal,
Yes you are right it’s all about the person and their choice but in CSS I dont think he will be able to give a color as menu background is he? and what I mean with the menu background is making the bg a flat color and giving pattern around it “:) so it will be pleasing to everyone :p lol
Thanks
Paresh
Hi have an issue with the design of this theme and the previous author publisher theme. Both themes push the bulk of content below the window view forcing visitors to scroll on the homepage to get access to page content other than the navigation. A tagline on this theme takes up a huge amount of prime real estate at the top of the page – its not a goot use of space.
Also…I am go over slideshows on the homepage…can the world of web design please move on…nearly every wordpress theme is riding this wave to death – time to put the user back in the center and focus on task driven design not just design that present a pretty picture to you when you land on their home page.
Please templatic return to purposeful design.
Hi Sam, I totally appreciate your concern. We too believe in robust, task-driven designs. You’d be happy to know that our designs are largely based on customers’ suggestions and latest trends. Talking about the homepage sliders in particular, I think they actually help showcase portfolios nicely, which is what this theme is all about. Imagine how much needful these sliders would be to photographers or freelance designers to show their work as soon as a visitor lands on their site. Besides, the homepage is completely widgetized. You can very well remove the slider and shift those sections up which you think are important. One can completely alter our design to their taste. Flexible and customizable design is what we strive to offer. :)
